Welcome to Kindness For Cats!

Welcome to Kindness For Cats Inc!

We have a new website!!  Please visit   http://kindnessforcats.rescuegroups.org/

We will continue to keep this website but it will not be maintained other than the list of kittens & cats available for adoption.  So please visit our new and improved website, and please sign our "Guest Book" there to let us know that you found us there!!  We welcome any suggestions to improve our website and to make it both more useful and fun for visitors!  We are also on FaceBook, and would love for you to become a fan of Kindness For Cats fan page!! To visit or to beome a fan please copy and paste the following link to your internet browser   http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orlando-FL/Kindness-For-Cats-Inc/94681413604

We are a very small nonprofit organization that participates in the Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) foster program providing temporary nurturing homes for at least a few of the countless kittens and cats abandoned there.  We attempt to find permanent loving homes for these kittens and cats so that they will not have to return to OCAS when their time in foster care is done.  For pictures and descriptions of some of the kittens and cats that we currently have for adoption please click on "Kittens & Cats Available For Adoption" at the top of this page or visit our website at  www.kindnessforcats.rescuegroups.org/

The adoption fee for OCAS kittens & cats is only $40, and includes spay/neuter, initial vaccinations including rabies, de-worm, de-flea, tested for feline leukemia, and an AVID chip (ID for lost pets). Please email us for more information and/or to set up a time to meet the kittens and cats in person!

We also strongly promote spay/neuter to help fight the battle against unwanted felines, and attempt to inform the general public regarding the daunting problem of pet overpopulation.  For low cost spay/neuter options (cat neuter for only $10, spay for $20) please visit the OCAS website for more information http://www.orangecountyfl.net/cms/DEPT/CEsrvcs/animal/surgerydisclaim.htm.

Also please visit our "Links" pages for information on Orange County Animal Services, followed by a link (www.ocnetpets.com) to photos and descriptions of the many wonderful kittens, cats, puppies and dogs currently at OCAS, many of which are now available for adoption.  Other links lead to websites on kitten care, and general cat information.  Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in adopting a homeless feline... with each adoption you are saving a life!  Please forward this website to anyone you think would like to provide a loving home for an abandoned kitten or cat.

**** Please note we typically do not take in animals outside of OCAS due to limited resources and space.  We are involved with OCAS as we feel that is where the greatest need is given that in one year alone over 24,000 unwanted pets and/or strays were brought to OCAS and only 6560 of those were adopted or reclaimed. The remaining 17,732 were either euthanized or died at the shelter (to view these statistics please visit www.orangecountyfl.net/cms/DEPT/CEsrvcs/animal/stats.htm)

If you are looking for assistance with feral cats/kittens we suggest that you contact Care Feline Rescue  www.carefelinerescue.org/ which is a nonprofit that works only with feral and stray cats.

A special "thank you" to our veterinarians -- Dr. Hart & Dr. Schnars of the Altamonte Animal Clinic.   We are deeply grateful for all they do!  Please visit their website at www.altamonteanimalclinic.com/

A heartfelt thank you to Suzan and Project Starfish Orlando for their generous donations of baby food and other needed supplies!!  And to Suzan for all the time and effort she puts forth not only in caring for the endless kittens & cats that she fosters, but also reaching out to other rescues and organizations to enrich their programs!!    www.projectstarfishorlando.com/
